Pre- & Post-Conference Tours

Dear Editors and Writers,
On behalf of the Arizona Office of Tourism and the Scottsdale
Convention & Visitors Bureau, we would like to thank you for
participating in the fourth annual Travel Classics West, November
1-4, 2007 in Scottsdale, Arizona. It is our honor and privilege to
sponsor such a prestigious event, and judging from the wonderful
caliber of editors and writers scheduled to attend this year, it is
sure to be the most successful conference yet.
Located in the heart of the Sonoran Desert, Scottsdale's beautiful
fall weather and gorgeous scenery will once again serve as the
perfect backdrop for the conference. In addition to the incredible
professional networking opportunities available at Travel Classics
West, you will also get the chance to discover all that Arizona has
to offer, from cultural and culinary treasures to natural and modern
wonders.
In past years, many participants have commented that they wished
they had extended their trip to explore more of Scottsdale and the
entire state. Because your conference time will be very focused on
business, we encourage you to get a better perspective on what makes
Arizona so unique by working with us to coordinate a pre- or
post-conference tour around the state. Whether you spend time
exploring Scottsdale in more depth, or you head out-of-town, we are
more than happy to assist you in developing an itinerary that meets
your specific needs. Please note we will not be organizing any
formal group tours, as we find it more effective to create
personalized itineraries that reflect your individual interests and
publications.
This year's conference will feature a wonderful and diverse line-up
of partners from around the state. You will likely be receiving lots
of great press kits and invitations from these sponsors, and we
encourage you to use this information to gather ideas and generate
itinerary suggestions. To coordinate your actual itineraries, we ask
you to go through our two organizations, as this will give you even
more flexibility and options to meet your story needs.
For your convenience, CLICK HERE for a list of story ideas and
itinerary suggestions. We also encourage you to visit our press
rooms at http://www.ArizonaGuide.com and http://www.ScottsdalePressRoom.com. If
you would like to discuss a pre- or post-conference tour, please
contact Jacki Mieler from the Arizona Office of Tourism or Laura
McMurchie from the Scottsdale Convention & Visitors Bureau.
In addition, we would like to invite you to attend the Arizona Media
Marketplace on November 1. The Marketplace will give you the unique
opportunity to meet with tourism representatives from around the
state. We will follow up with more information regarding this
exciting event at a later date.
We look forward to working with you on your pre- or post-conference
itinerary and meeting you in Scottsdale this November for the fourth
annual Travel Classics West.
All the best,
