10:00 am: Shop with a chef
Learn the ins and outs of Granville Island on a chef-guided tour that will have you touring and tasting the dozens of local food vendors.

Optional afternoon activities:
(Options subject to change based on availability. More options may be added.)
  • Vancouver city highlights tour (3.5 hours)
On this private bus tour for Travel Classics media, check-off Vancouver's major sites such as Stanley Park, Grouse Mountain, Capilano Suspension Bridge (including their new Cliffwalk adventure) and the Vancouver Aquarium.

  • Eat Your Cart Out" tour of Vancouver's street food vendors
Up until last year, street vendors in Vancouver were only allowed to sell popcorn, chestnuts, and hot dogs. When that ban was lifted the floodgates opened to the international community and the number of food carts on Vancouver streets skyrocketed. Now, Vancouver has almost 100 food vendors on city sidewalks. Experience the best of Vancouver street food culture on this fun, full of life tasting tour.

  • Gastown and Yaletown shopping and spa highlights tour
The neighbourhoods of Gastown and Yaletown are two of Vancouver's best shopping districts--especially for those who want to take home some local-Vancouver designers in their suitcase. With your guide from Tourism Vancouver, this tour will take you to a few of the top shops in these neighbourhoods, followed by a product testing tour (and glow n' go mini facials) at Vancouver-based Skoah spa using made-in-Vancouver skin care products.

  • Guided cycling tour of Vancouver (weather permitting)
Experience Vancouver's famous 22 km (13.7 mile) seawall on a tour with Cycle City Tours. Under your own pedal power you'll see top sites such as Stanley Park, Granville Island, False Creek, Chinatown and Gastown.

  • Helicopter tour of Vancouver (weather permitting, limited space)
Get a bird's eye view of Vancouver on this scenic aerial tour.

  • Free time to find your own story

5:30 pm: Cocktail hour with one of Vancouver's top mixologists
Vancouver is one of North America's foremost cocktail cities--a reputation that was solidified when Vancouver was selected as the first city to host an offshoot of the prestigious Tales of the Cocktail festival. You'll learn more about Vancouver's liquid culture, during this small-group session with one of the city's top barmen.

6:30 pm: Welcome Dinner at one of Vancouver's top restaurants
Vancouver cuisine ranges from multi-course Chinese feasts to European- influenced tasting plates and perhaps the best sushi available outside Japan. West Coast cuisine--also called Pacific Northwest cuisine--has enjoyed a renaissance in the city in recent years, largely due to a rediscovery of the region's uniquely flavourful ingredients, including high-quality Fraser Valley meat and vegetables and distinctive Vancouver Island seafood. The province's Okanagan Valley is renowned for its wines, while several unique breweries dot Vancouver, Vancouver Island and the wider B.C. area.

Overnight in Vancouver, compliments of Fairmont and Tourism Vancouver.
