A self-described little town in a big park, this historic settlement strikes a fine balance between conservation and development, ecology and economics. In its untamed heart, it's a gateway to adventure within the largest and most northerly Canadian rocky mountain national park, part of a spectacular UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Tee Time TBC - Golfing at the Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge
Stanley Thompson, Canada's master golf course architect, displayed his finest work with his design of The Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge Golf Course in Alberta. It's hard to imagine a golf course that hugs snow-capped mountains, meanders past glacial-fed lakes and through a wildlife corridor featuring elk, caribou, bears and wolves...but that's exactly what golf at Western Canada's number one Resort Mountain resort course has to offer. Fairways & Greens Magazine recognized The Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge Golf Course with two distinctions in 2012, "Favourite Places to Play" and "Favourite Places to Stay". We were also honoured with Golf Magazine's "Gold Medal Resort".

This leisurely walk allows plenty of time for photos and nature interpretation. Continuing up the Valley you arrive at the 'disappearing' Medicine Lake, with the amazing geology that has created the Karst Topographical phenomenon, causing the lake to completely drain yearly.

The final destination and the highlight of the tour, world famous Maligne Lake features a 90 minute cruise to Spirit Island, known as the icon of the Canadian Rockies! Time is allotted for passengers to purchase lunch or snacks at the View Restaurant, which offers a wide array of homemade soups, stews, chili, sandwiches, salads and a variety of baked goods and beverages.
