Open to 42 professional travel writers who have published a minimum of three major magazine articles within the last 18 months. A list of publication credits must accompany the application, along with two qualifying clips (winners of the Travel Classics Writers Contest need not submit clips but must send a list of recently published articles).

Your deposit reserves your spot.

Because only 42 writers will be accepted, a $400 deposit must accompany the application. The deposit is 100% refundable if the applicant is not accepted, and acceptance will be determined two weeks after receipt of application. If for any reason an applicant decides not to attend the conference, the deposit will be refunded in full up until August 1, 2014. Qualified wait-listed attendees will receive priority for the next Writers Conference.

Conference Fee:

The conference fee is $750 ($650 early bird rate). A $400 deposit, which will be deducted from your conference fee, must accompany your application. Please note: Attendee and guest payments are due in full by October 1, 2014 or the applicant's registration is void. For those receiving the early bird discount, the entire early bird fee of $650 is due by August 1, 2014, or the regular fee will apply.

Past Travel Classics attendees who register will receive a $200 stipend at the time of the conference to commemorate the 10th Anniversary of Travel Classics West.

Accommodations fees are to be paid to the hotel directly and are not included in the conference fee. The accommodations fee at The Boulders, A Waldorf Astoria Resort is $200 per night, single or double, including tax, gratuities, Wi-Fi, resort fees and daily buffet breakfast.
